The Reflection Table

Project Type: Bespoke Furniture Design (Freelance) Setting: Luxury Formal Drawing Room The Brief: Create a centerpiece that anchors a formal space while maintaining a sense of openness, luxury, and architectural volume.

01. Concept & Design Research

The project began with a "Reflection" case study to address the challenge of placing a large-scale object in a formal drawing room without overcrowding the visual field. By utilizing mirrors as the primary medium, the piece becomes an extension of the room's architecture rather than a disruption to it.

  • The Inspiration: Capturing and Multiplying Space.

  • Material Selection: Premium beveled glass, high-polish alloy frame, and hidden structural supports.

02. Technical R&D & Development

Translating the "Reflection" concept into a functional product required precise engineering to handle the weight of the glass and the complexity of the angles.

  • Geometric Engineering: I designed a multi-faceted beveled mirror array that creates a 360-degree panoramic reflection of the room's interior.

  • Structural Integrity: Developed a recessed geometric base that provides industrial-grade stability while remaining invisible from most standing angles, giving the table a "floating" luxury aesthetic.

  • Precision Drafting: Utilized AutoCAD for millimeter-perfect panel alignment to ensure no distortion in the reflected imagery.

03. Interior Integration

The table was designed not just as a product, but as a tool for Interior Architecture.

  • Visual Expansion: The beveled edges catch and refract light from formal chandeliers, brightening the drawing room's core.

  • Contextual Dialogue: By reflecting the intricate patterns of the Persian rugs and the soft textures of the surrounding upholstery, the table bridges the gap between different design elements in the space.

04. Final Execution

The result is a commercially successful, bespoke centerpiece that fulfills the client's desire for a spacious yet luxurious environment. It stands as a testament to 10+ years of experience in managing the lifecycle of a design from a conceptual case study to a finished, high-impact reality
